Back in the 1950's the U.S joined the UN forces in Korea to take a stand against a threat to democratic nations world wide. When the war ended around a 500,000 american veterans returned to thiere families and to a country that viewed the Korean war as something to memorialize. The Koreans War Veteran Memorial is memorial that was built to honor the lives of those who stood bravely to protect our democratic freedom. The memorial is open 24hrs a day, but from around 8:00 am to midnight you can find staff members to assist you with any questions about the memorial and also to give lectures.
